Established in 2013, IDEA Malawi is a locally registered non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable development in alignment with national and global goals. Registered under the Trustees Incorporation Rules and accredited by the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA), IDEA Malawi is also a proud member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA). Our programs are intentionally aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda, Malawi Vision 2063, and the Malawi Implementation Plan (MIP-1), ensuring that our work contributes meaningfully to the country’s long-term development priorities.

As a locally registered organization, IDEA Malawi’s work is deeply grounded in the Malawian context. This local presence enables the organization to strengthen community-led solutions, promote inclusive participation, and support local governance initiatives that reflect the needs and priorities of the communities it serves.

IDEA Malawi aligns its work with national frameworks such as Malawi Vision 2063 and participates in international networks, engaging in policy and structural development. The organization monitors public institutions, advocates for marginalized communities, and contributes to local governance, human rights, and democratization efforts, promoting transparency, accountability, and social equity.
